When the Universal Arch Kit hit the scene, it revolutionized the way people built archways.  Imagine cutting the trial and error out completely, and installing an archway in about 30 seconds.  It’s a novel idea to say the least, but many have found that it’s more than just nice in theory.  Now that the Universal Arch Kit is being sold nationwide on our website and at Home Depot stores, more people are considering arches than ever before.  It’s an exciting time to be creating curves!

But what can you do with your very own Universal Arch Kit?  Probably more than you think.  Read on to find out…

Eliminate sharp edges in wall openings

In a very basic sense, this is what a Universal Arch Kit does.  It allows you to round out wall openings and entryways so you don’t have to deal with the standard, cookie-cutter openings.  Who said every frame has to be square?  For just $19.95 and 30 seconds of work (plus drywall, compound, and paint), you can eliminate your sharp edges and create some appealing curves.

Install tray ceilings

All you need for this job is a frame set into your ceiling and two Universal Arch Kits.  In this project, you’ll be softening the edges of the frame to create the look of a traditional tray ceiling.  Add molding and a light fixture or two to complete the look.  Because you’re just rounding out the edges with your Universal Arch Kit, you can make your tray ceiling as long or wide as you’d like and use the same exact kit.  Just keep the depth under 12 inches and you’ll be fine.

Increase the value of your home

Cookie-cutter homes aren’t worth as much as custom-designed homes, for obvious reasons.

The fact remains that it costs less to create an angled wall opening than it does to create a curved one, but no one will guess that you only spent $19.95.

Create a one-of-a-kind look

You can install a basic curve in your wall openings or tray ceiling – or– you can create a stepped style that will give your home more of a Mediterranean vibe.  When it’s done and drywalled, it will look like a complicated architectural element, but it’s just the same arch set on a few wood blocks.  It may add another minute to your installation time, but even that’s being generous.

Be the envy of your neighbors

Maybe you’re not planning to sell any time soon.  But that doesn’t mean that you can’t jazz up your house more than the Jones’.  These days, most homes are built in developments – developments that use the same home design for most of their homes.  If you want to stand out, maybe it’s time for a simple renovation that will add value to your home and leave the neighbors wondering how much that “upgrade” cost.
