Choosing a range hood style is mostly personal taste along with the overall design/theme of the home. We currently have 6 styles available: Tuscan, Bell-Curve, Craftsman, Arcadia, Ballast, and Farmhouse. However, if you don’t like any of these, share your design with us and we can custom build a curved range hood based on your design and specifications.

Installing a range hood begins with assembling the frame. Once assembled, attach the frame to the wall and then continue by attaching the curved front and side panel arches. For ease of mind, use a few screws and metal straps to securely fasten your range hood to the wall. Custom installation instructions will be included to ensure a quick and easy install.

How long does it take to get my custom range hood?

Before we begin building your range hood, we will first email you a link to your 3d CAD approval drawings (this normally takes about 1-3 business days).  Once you approve the drawings, typical lead times are 7 to 10 business days and then add a few more days for shipping. Normally, the whole process can take anywhere from a week and half to three weeks depending upon how quickly you approve the drawings and/or if if need to make revisions to your drawings.

How do you ship my custom range hood?

Most of our kitchen range hood frames ship flat packed in 2-3 boxes via UPS Ground. But depending upon the size of your custom hood and/or the size of your order, it may need to ship via UPS Freight. If you’d like to know before you order, call us and we’ll let you know.

How do you drywall a custom range hood?

Drywalling a kitchen range hood is comprised of measuring the curvature of the front slope, cutting the drywall to the curvature, forming and fastening in place. You can also watch a tutorial on how to install, drywall, and finish one of our Tuscan Range Hoods on YouTube.

  • Wetting the back of the drywall (as shown in the video) will make the drywall easier to bend.
  • For tighter radius range hoods, consider using a double layer of either ¼” or ¼” flex drywall.

How do you finish custom range hoods?

Drywall, plaster, wood veneer, brick veneer, trim, tile… the list is seemingly endless. Whether you want your custom range hood to have a simple or an ornate finish, the choice is yours. You can check out our range hoods photo gallery or you can watch our "7 Creative Ideas to Finish Your Ceilings & Archways" YouTube video.

There has never been a design by any of our architects that Archways & Ceilings has not been able to manufacture. Once you have used Archways & Ceilings, you will never want to do the arches and ceilings any other way.

We had a project with a large fireplace that sat against a tall wall. Something was missing from the design so I had the guys at Archways & Ceilings build me a large curved fireplace canopy to create a cool custom feature for this area.  The kit was made to my spec’s and was easy to assemble.  The combination of the straight lines of the fireplace and the bell curve shaped lines of the canopy truly makes this space one of a kind.

As a framing contractor, anything with a radius, prior to Archways & Ceilings, meant I or one of my skilled hands would have to build it.  What was time consuming and costly is now easy and affordable.  Their balcony rims transformed what would’ve been a laborsome task into a quick and easy job.
