Your corbel arch kit will come with simple instructions along with a Video QR Code.

  1. Measure the depth of your opening to the nearest 1/8”.
  2. Decide if you want to add a center arch.
  3. If you chose to add a center arch, then measure the total width of your opening to the nearest 1/8”.
  4. Enter the location (place) where the corbel arch will be installed in your project (for example: Entry / Dining Rm, Living / Bdrm Hall, Arch #1).

When you choose to add a center arch, you’ll note that the total height will change based on the total width. The larger the opening, the more total height you’ll need. The width of your center arch will be the total width less 42″ for the corbel arches. A total width of 143.625 in. will make the center arch 101.625 in. The rise of your center arch will be determined by the center arch rise chart. If you’d like to further customize the rise of your center arch, or any other part of your corbel arch, feel free to call us. Using the above example, a total width of 143.625 in will make the center arch rise 9.000 in.

Every corbel arch kit comes with tailored installation instructions to your specifications. It really is as simple as measuring and marking your header, marking down from the header, and then aligning and fastening each corbel arch to the stud and header.

How long does it take to get my corbel archways?

How do you drywall a corbel arch?

Drywalling a corbel arch is comprised of measuring the curvature of the arch, cutting the drywall to the curvature and depth, forming and fastening in place. You can also watch our "How to Drywall an Archway" YouTube video.

  • Wetting the back of the drywall (as shown in the video) will make the drywall easier to bend.
  • For tighter radius corbel arches, consider using a double layer of either ¼” or ¼” flex drywall.

How do you finish corbel archways?

Drywall, plaster, wood veneer, brick veneer, trim, tile… the list is seemingly endless. Whether you want your corbel archway to have a simple or an ornate finish, the choice is yours. You can also watch our "7 Creative Ideas to Finish Your Ceilings & Archways" YouTube video.

There has never been a design by any of our architects that Archways & Ceilings has not been able to manufacture. Once you have used Archways & Ceilings, you will never want to do the arches and ceilings any other way.

Christine Riggs / Project Manager

Calais Custom Homes, Southlake, TX

I used to cringe when I’d hear a client request an elliptical arch, because I knew it meant I’d have to build it as oppose to delegating this to one of my guys. Plus the time it takes to build these correctly would take me half a day. Not anymore. Archways & Ceilings elliptical arches are too quick and easy. I couldn’t believe the simplicity as well as the ease of installation with the provided detailed instructions. Truly an amazing product.
