Cove ceilings are a simple design detail when compared to our more complex vaults and ceilings, but the power is in its simplicity. A humble rounding effect from the wall to ceiling can have an amazing impact on the space.Check out Cove Ceilings Featured Project

How to Install A Cove Ceiling Kit
You can download our “How to Install” instructions under the instructions tab of our pricing calculator. We recommend using either a T-Nailer or a narrow crown stapler when installing. While both the installation video and instructions may not be applicable to your construction setting, your installation instructions will be tailored to your specifications for easy install.
How to Drywall a Cove Ceiling
Drywalling a cove ceiling is comprised of measuring the curvature of the cove pieces, cutting the drywall to the curvature and length, forming, and fastening in place.
- Wetting the back of the drywall (as shown in the video) will make the drywall easier to bend.
- For tighter radius ceiling coves, consider using a double layer of either ¼” or ¼” flex drywall.
How to Finish a Cove Ceiling
Drywall, plaster, tile, trim, faux…the list is seemingly endless. Whether you want your ceiling cove to have a simple or an ornate finish, the choice is yours. All of our cove ceiling kits can be designed to handle any finish you can imagine.
Cove Kit Specifications
While any part of a ceiling cove can be modified to our builders’ exact specifications, the most common part specifications are as follows:
|Material||Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)(High Grade Moisture Resistant)|
|Thickness||The thickness of the cove pieces can range from ½” to 1” thick depending upon the radius.|
|Depth||The depth of the cove pieces are normally 2 ½” deep.|
|Radius||The cove ceiling radius can be made as small as 8 ¼” and as large as you desire.|
|Spacing||We provide enough cove pieces to be spaced 16” O.C.|
Choosing a Cove Ceiling Radius
Choosing a radius for your cove ceiling is mostly personal taste along with the overall design/theme of the home.

“I would highly recommend Archways & Ceilings for coved ceilings. Their kits takes what can be a hard task for a carpenter and makes it into a simple project. The savings over other products we have used like Styrofoam is significant with better durability.”
