A cloister vault, also known as a dome vault, has four concave surfaces that meet above the vaults center. You may have noticed that cloister vaults are similar to groin vaults, but there is one notable difference: With a cloister vault, the solid pieces of the barrel form the intersection, and with a groin vault it is the exact opposite. Have you ever installed one of our cloister vault kits? If so, send us the images (pretty please!). We love seeing new and interesting installations. Email us or share them on Instagram with the hashtag #archkit. But for now, just sit back and enjoy our cloister vault photo gallery.
