A groin vault, also known as a cross vault, is two intersecting barrel vaults that pass through one another. This architectural gem can either be framed up into your attic space or can be framed underneath your joists and trusses. Groins can be found in entry ways, dining rooms, hallways, master bedrooms, and kitchens.
