What is your product made out of?

Our products are made out MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard).

What does the product look like when I get it?

All products are broken down into kits either packaged in a box or a crate depending on size.

Do I need to order through a dealer or can I come directly to you?

You can do either or. We suggest doing what works best for you.

Do you handle small orders?

We handle orders of all sizes. We will manufacture 1 arch or a thousand arches. Each customer is important to us no matter what size the order is.

Do I have to assemble the product?

Yes. All Archways & Ceilings products are designed to be easily assembled as framing kits. Each product comes with detailed instructions showing you how to properly install your kit.

What level of experience is needed to install your kits?

If you can hold a nail gun and use a measuring tape then you are experienced enough to install our framing kits.

How thick is each arch or ceiling kit?

Archways and ceiling kits vary. Most archways under 8 feet are 1 inch thick. Arches bigger then 8 feet are 1 ½ inches thick. Groin vault ceilings and barrel vault ceilings are always 1 ½ inches thick. Dome ceilings vary based on size and shape. All half circle dome ceiling rafters are 1 ½ inches thick while soft dome rafters vary from 1 inch to 1 ½ inches depending on size. Cove ceilings are generally ½ inch thick but will increase in thickness once the cove ceiling piece exceeds a 24 inch radius.

Do you carry stock sizes?

No, every order is considered to be made custom for the customer. Our technology and “know how” on bending wood makes it just as easy to make a custom order as it is to make stock sizes. The best part is, there is no extra charge.

What happens if my product gets rained on when sitting out on my project?

No worries! Our products have been delivered to jobsites over the last 20 years and we have never had a problem with water. If water gets on the arch you may get a mild discoloration and slight swelling but the arch or ceiling kit will be fine. *Like any wood product, don’t just leave it in a puddle of water for an extended period of time*

What are your 3 key measurements for figuring an archway or ceiling kit?

Depth (length), Width, and Rise. With these 3 key measurements we can make any size archway, dome ceiling, groin vault, cove ceiling or barrel vault.

What is depth?

Depth =  the net thickness of the wall. It is also considered length when referring to a barrel vault ceiling. Length= the distance from one end to the other end.

What is width?

Width =  the span of the opening.

What is rise?

Rise =  the drop of the arch as measured from the apex of the underside of the arch to the lowest point it encounters the trimmer. *This is not the radius.

How precise can you make your archways and ceilings kits?

We can prefabricate any archway or ceiling kit to the nearest ¼ inch and we prefer you to be exact with your measurements.

What happens when I get an archway deeper then your standard 2x4 and 2x6 openings?

Simple, when you input your measurement, our formula will let us know if you need more then one arch for a particular opening. For example, if you have a 7” deep opening you will receive 2 archways. One archway will be placed in the front of your opening and the second one to be placed in the back of your opening. Do you have any limitations on your archways or ceiling kits?

No, if you can supply us with the 3 key measurements then we can build it.

How come when I am on the website and input an archway or ceiling kit larger then 16 foot I get an error code telling me to contact you?

Our online website only handles widths up to 16 feet. Anything wider we prefer to handle directly over the phone so we can better understand all the variables and ensure proper pricing, shipping costs, and enclose proper installation instructions. *The error code doesn’t mean we can’t do it. We just feel more comfortable confirming such a large size archway or ceiling kit*

Do you nail or screw in the product?

You can nail or screw into our products. We suggest using the method you are most familiar with. Traditionally all of our products are nailed in because it is faster.

I have unusual sizes and designs on my project, what should I do?

You should contact Archways & Ceilings by phone 877-303-ACME (2263) or email Sales@ArchwaysAndCeilings.com and a Sales Representative will help you with your quote/order. *Remember, we can make any custom sized archway or ceiling kit to fit your desired measurements*

How do I get a quote for an order?

We offer 4 methods to quote your project. 1^st- Simply input the measurements yourself online and receive an instant quote at your fingertips. 2^nd- Fax your dimensions to us. 3^rd Email us your dimensions. 4^th – Call our customer service line at 877-303-2263 to get a quote over the phone in minutes.

How do I get the required measurements for a quote?

How come when I input my measurements online I get an error code or the price is not popping up?

Make sure you fill out the entire form and that you are inputting all of your measurements in inches. If your archway or ceiling kit is larger then 16 foot then contact Sales@archwaysandceilings.com or call Customer Service (877-303-2263) for accurate quoting /shipping information.

What do I need to send to you so you can do a takeoff / quote for me?

Email a PDF, CAD, or drawing with dimensions.

I don’t know which archway or ceiling kit would look best for my project, can you show me what my quote or order will look like?

Yes, we offer an additional service called 2D / 3D CADME. For $34.95 we can supply you with a full color CAD of what your archway or ceiling kit will look like.

How do I pay for an order?

You can pay online with a master card or visa, use a PayPal account or simply call in your card information.

What if I don’t want to put my order on a credit card?

You can pay with a check. Simply fax us a copy of the check and we will begin production of your order. However we will not ship your order until we receive the check. All checks should be mailed to 2441 Houston Street,Grand Prairie,TX75050

How long does it take to produce my order?

Approximately 5 days or sooner.

How does my order ship?

Depending on the size we will ship each order either by Fedex or a LTL carrier.

How much does shipping add to my order?

On average, shipping will be less then 13% of your order (In the United States Only).

How can I find out if my order has shipped?

You can contact Orders@ArchwaysAndCeilings.com , however you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information once your order has shipped. You can also call Customer Service (877-303-2263).

What do I do if my order arrives damaged or missing?

Immediately contact Orders@ArchwaysAndCeilings.com or call Customer Service (877-303-2263) and we will get it squared away. *Supplying pictures of the damaged product always helps not to mention pictures will help us determine which products may be missing*

I have received the product but how do I install it?

I recently purchased and installed an arch using your great system.  However, I noticed that your photo gallery on your web site does not show any arches like the one I installed.  All of your arches span from wall to wall; mine doesn’t.   So I have attached some photos for you.

Step 1- Using traditional framing construction to meet code requirements, frame a brace centered down the length of your barrel vault.

Step 2- Snap a center line to the underside of the center brace. Note: The center line must be centered down the length of the barrel vault within ¼”.

Step 3- Measure and mark down from the bottom of the center brace along each wall and at each end ______ inches (rise). Note: The rise does not include the thickness of the center brace.

Step 4- Snap a horizontal line at the rise mark on each wall down the length of your barrel vault.

Step 5- Starting at one end of your barrel vault, align the pre-cut mitered half of the arch to the rise mark on the stud. Using a nail gun (or screw gun), attach the half to the stud. Tip: if using screws predrill pilot holes.

Step 6- Align the square cut half to the center line of the center brace and nail (screw) in place.

Step 7- Repeat steps 5 and 6 to complete the whole strut.

Step 8- While spacing the barrel vault struts 16” O.C., continue installing the struts down the length of the barrel vault until finished.

Step 9- If necessary and/or according to code requirements, install strongbacks atop the barrel vault struts.

Step 10- If necessary and/or according to code requirements, fire block the barrel vault along the perimeter of the outer struts.

Step 11- That’s it! You are now ready for electric and drywall!
