Whether your building a new home or remodeling it is always important to examine all the possibilities to help you finish your project on time, under budget and to maintain the highest level of quality. Here at Archways & Ceilings we have modeled our business around these key points and proudly offer our customers an opportunity to take there business to the next level by offering them our product line of arched ceilings. We prefabricate custom arched ceilings like groin vaults, dome ceilings, barrel vaults and cove ceilings. But that’s not all! We listen to our customers needs and make custom ceilings per the builders / remodelers request. Just because we don’t have it listed on our website, doesn’t mean we don’t make it.
For example, we recently had an opportunity to design and fabricate a cloister vault ceiling for a home in Oklahoma. The builder and home owner wanted to make a statement and also wanted a unique custom ceiling for the foyer of the home. So after several different design ideas, the home owner made his choice, a cloister vault. From here, we supplied them with detailed 2d & 3d cads of what the ceiling would look like in the home. This way they were able to visualize the ceiling and begin thinking about how they wanted to finish it out.
Behind the scenes, we are working diligently by manufacturing the arched ceiling (3-5 days) and by putting together detailed custom instructions to illustrate how the ceiling will piece together once it reaches the jobsite. We make every step of our process super simple, super easy.
Take a look at the cloister vault below! Imagine trying to frame that from scratch!
A groin vault ceiling is a great design idea for any foyer or entry way. The groin ceiling brings a custom warm feel along with added architectural detail to the space. Not to mention building these ceilings has never been so easy! Archways & Ceilings offers groin vault kits that allows anyone the opportunity to add a groin ceiling to there living space. Take a look below on how this entry way was transformed into a beautiful grand foyer. Click here to get an instant quote on a groin vault.
We recently had the opportunity to work with a team of professionals from Almar Building & Remodeling located in Hanover, MA. Their client wanted to incorporate a dome ceiling in the master bedroom and that’s when we teamed up with www.Almarbuilding.com. Take a look:
“When our client came to us with the idea of wanting to install a flat ceiling with a Dome in their Master Bedroom ceiling that was already vaulted 15′ we were not sure what was the best way to frame the structure. I had talked with people who had used a ‘hanging plaster’ system, but were very unhappy with it and as the home settled the plaster cracked. After doing some research on the internet, we found Archways and Ceilings. The online videos and instructions were a great help and we decided to use them for this project. We sized up and ordered the kit with the help of their sales staff. They helped us design and make sure that everything would fit into the room perfectly.
Our carpenters thought that the kit was great and easy to use. And the Dome Kit was very affordable and got our homeowner the awesome Master Bedroom ceiling they wanted without breaking the bank. The ceiling Dome kit with a light ring was great and with the LED lighting and Flexible crown molding it was a great looking finished ceiling!”

See for your self!
When you think of a modern home design, you begin to think of crisp, straight lines and often do not think about archways or arched ceilings. Guido Custom Homes thought out side of the box and incorporated archways, coved ceilings, barrel vaults and groin vaults in their modern home design. They were successful in bringing the traditional mediterranean style and making it modern. The overall secret to keeping arched ceilings modern is by keeping the ceiling detail subtle. Tip: Keep each ceiling detail unique and think of it like a piece of art work on the wall.

Yes. All Archways & Ceilings products are designed to be easily assembled as framing kits. Each product comes with detailed instructions showing you how to properly install your kit.
Archways and ceiling kits vary. Most archways under 8 feet are 1 inch thick. Arches bigger then 8 feet are 1 ½ inches thick. Groin vault ceilings and barrel vault ceilings are always 1 ½ inches thick. Dome ceilings vary based on size and shape. All half circle dome ceiling rafters are 1 ½ inches thick while soft dome rafters vary from 1 inch to 1 ½ inches depending on size. Cove ceilings are generally ½ inch thick but will increase in thickness once the cove ceiling piece exceeds a 24 inch radius.
No, every order is considered to be made custom for the customer. Our technology and “know how” on bending wood makes it just as easy to make a custom order as it is to make stock sizes. The best part is, there is no extra charge.
No worries! Our products have been delivered to jobsites over the last 20 years and we have never had a problem with water. If water gets on the arch you may get a mild discoloration and slight swelling but the arch or ceiling kit will be fine. *Like any wood product, don’t just leave it in a puddle of water for an extended period of time*
Depth = the net thickness of the wall. It is also considered length when referring to a barrel vault ceiling. Length= the distance from one end to the other end.
Rise = the drop of the arch as measured from the apex of the underside of the arch to the lowest point it encounters the trimmer. *This is not the radius.
Simple, when you input your measurement, our formula will let us know if you need more then one arch for a particular opening. For example, if you have a 7” deep opening you will receive 2 archways. One archway will be placed in the front of your opening and the second one to be placed in the back of your opening. See the how to install instructions on www.archwaysandceilings.com for more information. Instructions will be found under the Archways section of the site.
Our online website only handles widths up to 16 feet. Anything wider we prefer to handle directly over the phone so we can better understand all the variables and ensure proper pricing, shipping costs, and enclose proper installation instructions. *The error code doesn’t mean we can’t do it. We just feel more comfortable confirming such a large size archway or ceiling kit*
