Often when you think of a barrel vault you picture half of a circle. When barrel ceilings are that curved they create more of a dramatic impression in a home. Barrel Vaults do not have to be so dramatic all the time. We recently had a customer ask for a less dramatic feature so we suggested to create a soft rise barrel. A barrel vault with a soft rise is subtle but elegant. The barrel ceiling will deliver that architectural detail and not overwhelm the room.
